Smannell & Enham - Church of England (Aided) Primary School

Admissions

Finding the right school for your child is a big decision whether you are embarking on choosing a school for the first time or in a move to the area and deciding which school to choose.  This is even harder if it’s being done remotely so we hope we’ve covered all that you need on this and following pages (accessed below) to guide you through the process of admissions.

As a church school, the Governor body is the admissions authority for Smannell & Enham Church of England Primary School.  Admissions arrangements are determined by the Governor Board after statutory consultations.  This is slightly different to other non-denominational main stream schools as Hampshire is their admissions authority.

The guiding principle of admission to this school is that a church school should serve its local community, defined in the trust deed dated 1873 as the ecclesiastical parish of Knights Enham hamlets of Enham Alamein, Upper Enham, Little London, Woodhouse, Smannell, Finkley and Finkley Down. That said, we often have applications from families in Augusta Park; despite encompassing several small villages, our catchment remains small and we often therefore have capacity to admit children from outside this limited area.
