At Smannell and Enham Primary School, we are committed to providing a curriculum that meets the needs of every child – including those with special educational needs and disabilities, those who are more able, pupils with particular gifts and talents, and those learning English as an additional language.
Our curriculum is carefully designed to be rich, ambitious and inclusive. It is underpinned by clear subject-specific progression maps which set out the knowledge and skills children are expected to develop at each stage. This ensures learning is well sequenced, builds on prior knowledge, and prepares pupils for the next stage in their education.
We make the most of our fantastic location by weaving outdoor learning and fieldwork opportunities throughout the curriculum. This helps children to apply their learning in meaningful contexts and to develop curiosity, independence and resilience.
Each class produces a half-termly learning overview, which outlines what pupils will be learning in each subject and suggests ways to support this at home. These are sent home to families and published on the class pages of our website.
